agricultural production often referred to as the food bowl of Australia.
A growing aquaculture industry, a vast array of crops including 90% of Australia’s rice, 75% of NSW wine grapes, 70% of NSW citrus, melons, prunes, olives, nuts, vegetables, cereal crops and cotton.
A multi-cultural town with a strong Italian influence it was designed by Walter Burley Griffin and proclaimed as a town in 1916. Banna Avenue is an attractive tree lined main street stretching several blocks featuring boutiques, gift shops, galleries and Italian cafes.
The surrounding districts in the heart of the Riverina offer further attractions. Leeton, Yenda, Darlington Point, Whitton all have interesting venues to visit.
